Ronda Canfield

Ronda has been a cheer coach for 18 years.  Her main reason for coaching is the love of children and her belief that cheerleading can help teach positive life skills that will benefit all kids as they grow into their adult lives.  She loves to motivate and encourage cheerleaders, to set new goals and watch them achieve success beyond their known limits. Growing up, she was involved in dance and gymnastics; an easy transition to competitive cheer.  She found a knack for working with children, chorography and cleaning routines.

Ronda has had much success in the All-Star cheer world, with over
25 National titles from teams, individuals and stunt group competitions.  She has been both an All-Star cheer judge and a gym owner with numerous awards such as several Best Small Gym awards at Nationals, several Best Small Gym in Texas Awards, numerous Level and Grand Champion Awards as well as Best Choreography Awards.  She is excited to be with the Texas Stars All-Star program, where the love of children and their best interest is obvious from both owners and coaches.  She feels blessed to work with such great kids and staff members, but she could do none of this if it were not for the support of her family.

Her husband has always encouraged her and carried more than his load at home so she could continue to pursue her love of coaching.  She and her husband are the parents of three great kids who have grown up in gyms and on sports fields.  With both a mother and father who have coached youth sports both for the community and professionally, her family has not grown up in a typical traditional dinner at
6:00 life style. Their children are now coaching and reaping some of the same rewards she and her husband have enjoyed for years.  She thanks God for His many blessings in her life and for bringing so many wonderful families into their lives that have enriched her with their kindness and love.  It is true, as you give to your community, you receive much more.

Kinn Kinny

Kinn started tumbling in his back yard at the age of 10 after watching the 1984 Olympic games.  Pursuing other sports, Kinn didn’t know cheerleading was even an option until he saw another male cheerleader tumbling at his high school, John Houston.  Being as talented as he was, John helped pave the way for Kinn’s cheerleading career and Kinn started cheering as a junior at McCullough High School in The Woodlands, TX.  In 1992 Kinn was selected as the best male cheerleader in the nation at a National Cheerleader’s Association competition, and was only the second person to ever throw a double back flip in cheerleading competition (John was the first).  Kinn then went on to cheer for two years at Trinity Valley Community College from 1992 – 1994 where he won a collegiate national championship in 1993.  After graduating from TVCC in 1994, Kinn went on to cheer at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.  Throughout his college cheerleading career, Kinn was selected twice as a collegiate All – American cheerleader and was a two time national partner stunt competition finalist.  Kinn graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  Since 1996 Kinn has judged cheerleading at the national level including high school, all star, and college for such companies as NCA, Cheersport, World Spirit Federation and others.  Kinn currently resides in Haslet, TX with his wife, Jane De Grasse, two cocker spaniels, Abby and Merlin, and a cat named Chloe.
